Can You Paint a Colorbond Shed?
Yes . Colorbond sheds can be spray painted, and the finish lasts. It’s one of the most common questions we get, because plenty of people assume Colorbond is a “you get what you get” surface. It isn’t.
With the right preparation and the right paint, a resprayed Colorbond shed looks new and stays that way. Ours are backed by a 7 year workmanship warranty.
Here’s what a proper Colorbond shed respray involves:
Preparation.
We inspect and clean the surface, and treat any rust around bolts, edges and sheet overlaps with Cold Galv Rust Primer and Metal Primer. Rust is the one thing you never paint over.
An undercoat (when it’s needed).
Colorbond sheds under two years old need a full undercoat first, because the newer factory coating is too slick for topcoat to grip directly. Older Colorbond has weathered enough that undercoat isn’t required, which is why an experienced sprayer matters.
Two full coats of premium paint.
We spray two full top coats of Dulux Weathershield or Wattyl Solagard (both carry a 25-year manufacturer warranty). You can choose any Colorbond colour. Going from Pale Eucalypt to Monument? Cream to Basalt? Any colour to any colour.
The result costs a fraction of a new shed, and you’re not stuck with the colour range your shed happened to come in twenty years ago.

We show up when we said we were going to 🙂 and mask everything around your shed: pavers, plants, walls.
Our Selective Coating Technique means zero overspray on anything that isn’t the shed.
2. Spray 2 Full Coats
An udercoat on newer sheds. Full coverage with professional Graco spray equipment.
3. Final Inspection
We check the finish, touch up anything that needs it, and clean up completely.
